David Barbe (head of international affairs) has been mixing records with Yellow Fang from Thailand and Bell Divers from Australia. He has also completed a record with Athens rockers Romper Stompers.

Andy LeMaster has been working on a new record with Amanda Shires from Lubbock, TX. He is also working with fellow Athenians White Violet on a new 7″ record.

Matt DeCamp is continuing his mastering crusade with the Widespread Panic Archive Series.

Drew Vandenberg has wrapped up mixing records with Painted Palms and Camper Van Beethoven. He has also mixed an amazing new record with Bloomington, IN’s Busmans Holiday as well as a couple songs on a reemerging project from Fred Thomas…

Noel Brown has been recording and mixing with Athens band Brothers of which he is also a member.

Drew Vandenberg [More...]]]> As the temps (mercifully) drop into the 90′s, we here in the Freon-soaked environs of CPT have been chilling (literally, and, at times, figuratively) in the following manner………

Andy LeMaster is engineering and producing an album for Alessi’s Ark (London, UK). Andy also mastered an album by Athens based bluegrassers, The Welfare Liners.

Drew Vandenberg is mixing a new album from Painted Palms. Drew also mixed an album from new Athens based band Blue Blood.

David Barbe tracked and mixed a single with Jerry Joseph and the Jackmormons. “She’s Going Out” has been a live staple for Jerry for years, but has never been recorded. Well, not until now, at least. Out this fall. David also completed mixing an album for Ricer; mixed Mike Cooley of Drive-By Truckers first solo album, featuring recordings from 2 shows at The Earl in Atlanta, a show in Athens at the Melting Point, and a couple of tracks cut at Chase Park.

Matt DeCamp has been mastering Widespread Panic live recordings for future release in the band’s archive series.

Alex Kroh mixed tracks for a forthcoming soundtrack with composer/producer Mike Mills, has been working on album projects with Bellwether Station and Tumbleweed Stampede.

Bennett Moon mixed a Dawes live recording for WXRT in Chicago.

Tom Lewis mastered a new Dennis Ellsworth album, “Dusk Dreams.” Ellsworth hails from Prince Edward Island, Canada, and utilized an all-Athens studio lineup of Seth Hendershot (drums), Thayer Sarrano (keys), Matt Stoessel (guitar and pedal steel), and David Barbe (bass, engineer, producer).

Noel Brown worked on an album project with Eat Lightning.

Will Manning recorded The Greys and worked on a few different projects with producer Eric Johnson.

Neko Case and her band have been in Studio A rehearsing new material for a forthcoming album.

Neko Case and her band have been in Studio A rehearsing new material for a forthcoming album.

David Barbe is currently recording the debut album from New Madrid right on the heels of wrapping up two projects – albums by Dead Confederate and Patterson Hood. Both of these projects have a pretty well-rounded cast of characters both in terms of musicians and studio staff.  Dead Confederate had Thayer Serrano and Matt Stoessel add tracks, and the Patterson Hood recorded band features, at various times,  various Drive-By Truckers bandmates,  Jacob Morris (Moths), Will Johnson and Scott Danbom (both of Centromatic), Kelly Hogan, and David Hood.  Bennett Moon served as assistant engineer on both projects, and Andy LeMaster did some engineering on both projects, too, which brings us to our next item…..

Andy LeMaster is back!  Andy has been gone for most of the last couple of years touring  the world as the bassist for Bright Eyes. He has managed to keep on some engineering and producing, but it has largely been structured between tours.   Since finishing the Bright Eyes tour at the end of 2011, he has done some engineering on the Patterson Hood and Dead Confederate albums, and has been doing some tracking for his own project. Andy has also just finished some mixes on a new album by Azure Ray. Azure Ray is the musical collaboration of long-time Chase Park pals Maria Taylor and Orenda Fink.

Drew Vandenberg’s slate of recent projects includes 2 records with The Futurebirds (one studio and one live), mixing a new Camper Van Beethoven record, a solo album from Deerhunter’s Moses Archuleta, and an EP of more explosive psychedelia from Bambara.

Bennett Moon has been tracking new material with singer-songwriter Betsy Franck, and cutting drum tracks for composer Ayman Tatir.

Alex Kroh has mixed tracks with Atlanta’s Higher Choir for a new EP, and working with Koko Beware on a new album.

Henry Barbe was engineering overdubs and mixing with Second Sons.

Matt Tuttle has been working on a new project with Tola.

Noel Brown cut tracks with Augusta’s Night People.
